Title: Grainy Clouds
Post by: Peter Pinback on March 08, 2021, 09:47:07 AM
Hi all, when i render clouds and atmosphere i always get those grainy clouds like in the picture.
I´ve red the thread "Render Settings Recommendation" but without any noticeable effect.

In the meantime I am at a value of 256 samples in the atmosphere settings.
Defer atmosphere is ticked on and off but the clouds are always grainy.
Cloud quality is at 1 and cache by highest detail.

Anyone has any idea why this is?

A couple things;

Atmosphere Samples can just be 16 or 24.

Cloud quality can go above 1

You may want to try a smaller Pixel Noise Threshold under the "Edit Sampling" button in the render tab.

There is also Voxel Scattering Quality under GI Settings in GI In Clouds which I usually set to 500 or above.
