Today: The Wile e Coyote on the Serenity :)
In fact most of the animationrendering is finished.
Not really easy to cut such a short comic-like film - and while using the MS Moviemaker as usual for test animations, I missed a 3rd track for adding a booster sound (and some others).
But I hope you'll have some fun anyway.
Here the (not officially YT listed) animation exclusively for my TG Forum friends :)
;D :D :) Fantastic!
Thanks Ulco :)
Meanwhile a little correction: During my lunch time I posted the video officially on YT. There you can also find the credits for the 3D models in the description.
;D ;D Thanks, Doc! Great to start the week with a smile. Don't know how you manage to turn these around so quickly.
Wow that was great! The animation was very smooth and color and lighting looked great. Reminded me a bit of space jam. Cartoon - and real life, though it was all 3D. lol
Always in the hot seat! Wonderful! ;D
Thank you all, my friends :)
Steve, it was not so quickly as you may think. I had the advantage of a quite render-ready scene: The space dock in many angles and from different views. Additionally during working on the Airwolf animation I already had prepared some Coyote fbx files on MIXAMO. But the space dock has the longest history of rerenderings of I'd say 5-6 years. In this time I increased render quality, changed 3D models and so on...
But -- No matter how long it takes to complete the project, I appreciate everyone who shares my insane sense of humor ;)
ROFLMAO !! ;D ;D
...almost 3 months later ::)
sorry folks but since some months I really had nothing really new to show. I reworked some scenes in my fan film, the most of you already know.
And unfortunately it's no new landscape or specially Terragen related stuff within.
But I wanted to let you know that I'm alive and still working on that project :) -- harder than before :)
In the new YT video you'll see a new room I discovered in Raul Mamoru's lovely Enterprise model. The Enterprise REC (Recreation deck)
The "trekkiest specialists" of you will surely remember the scene I want to quote (strongly modified) in my film... ;)
Some more description in the YT description.
...and I'll go on animating 47 different people in the REC Room... ::) :P
But meanwhile: Have fun and enjoy.
Glad to hear you're doing fine, Nils!! This looks wonderful again. I don't envy you your work on animating all those people. I've said it before, but I really admire your tenacity! Keep going.... and also (in the meantime) keep healthy!
Thank you very much, Ulco, glad to hear you seem fine too :)
Yes a special challenge is to animate people who must interact with each other. But additionally it requires concentration and conscientiously too, to avoid that objects and/or persons merge with each other or into each other -- fight the glitches... ;D
And now - In the next days it's time again to look what happened here in Image Sharing... :)
Just a second ago I remembered an example of my fight against the glitches:
Fortunately, I previously rendered a low-resolution test from this view. Would you have seen straight away that Lara Croft grabbed the White Canary's buttocks? So incredibly embarrassing!
Animation Aliierte Waiting KIRKS Rede auf Enterprise INSIDE - RAW Test Rendered LQ.mp4
:P :o
I didn't see that, but I did now! It would be fun if you could have one person step out of another person, like a dragonfly releasing itself from its youth panzer.
I love these videos. Seeing all my favorite science fiction mashed together into awe inspiring, and humorous shots.
Thanks Jordan :) That was the plan - science fiction mashed together ;)
Ulco, your suggestion is in fact within my plan though a bit different and very hard to animate.
I want to let someone "open" his body like a kind of suit and get out as someone else...
But that's far in the future... :)
The Enterprise REC scene will have at least 12 animations. And as usual I integrated a a little subplot that has nothing - really absolutely nothing to do with the danger the Enterprise crew has to face... ;D
Groot has to be comforted by a little robo dog because the bad boy from Voyager (presumably Tom Paris) won't let him play:

Wonderful. All these familiar faces are nice to see bunched up too.
Nice. The skater is a great touch too.
Thank you Ulco, thank you Steve :)
Unfortunately the skater gets a quite fat bollocking for skating on the Enterprise by...
Professor X:
"Mister Tom Riddle!, Ähem ... Sorry - Tom Paris was the Name, right?
What did I tell you about skating on spaceships? - It is unseemly and damages the floors - right?"
Tom Paris: "Yes Professor, Sir, sorry Sir!"
Professor X:
"Woe if I catch you again!
Mr. Data, take him back to the training ship ..."
Cmdr. Data:
"Yes sir, right away, sir!"

Al little bit Making of and some model credits:
Patrick Steward is a bust by PrintedReallity on CGTrader.
I combined it with the "eric_rigged_Model" by Renderpeople and animated it with MIXAMO.
The wheelchair is a modified Free 3D model by ifobj on CGTrader.
"Tom Paris" is the skating Tyler model from Renderpeople which I seperated from his Skateboard, re-rigged and animated with MIXAMO.
Cmdr. Data needed a bit more changes. I only used the face and hair of the Data model from mod3ler on Turbosquid.
The body is the same like most of my Enterprise Crew members share: Scottys body with a new colored suit.
In Datas case I had to do a bit more... little design work. I think from far it looks ok.
Anpassung Datas Suit 210628_2345.jpg Scott_torso_DATA_D_Final_Steps.jpg
So I could exchange the original body model which did not work good with MIXAMO. I didn't get any good rigging results even after long time working on the model.
Here the old original version - look at the unnaturally twisted arm:

And at last only a little bit assignment of persons and contexts ... :)
As you all surely know was the DS9 Station converted into a school for gifted young pilots under the direction of Professor Charles Xavier.
The Voyager is one of the training space ships...

;D ;D ;D Awesome! That schoolbus is great!
Thanks Ulco :)
Meanwhile, the work goes on tirelessly
I found the perfect suitable supervisor to take care of Tom Riddle - äähhmm sorry - Tom Paris who was detained and had to do penal duties and exercises for skating on the Enterprise...
I may proudly introduce:
Professor Machete, teacher for defence against the Dark Side of the Force... ;)
Danny gruesst - RAW Test Rendered.mp4
Meanwhile I work on some small improvemets like varable textures against the fixed dull look of Professor Xavier in closer shots:
Blickrichtungstests_210701_0918.wmv
You need some patience and a grafic tool which can work with layers and/or masking (I use Corel Photo Paint)
Also you should be able to think in very strange directions as well as in 3D:
Zwischenablage-1.jpg
Awkward working in such a texture! Before you know eyes fly off....
;D
Oh yes... Much of the work is try and try again ... but seems I think I got it right, though ;) :

The next section is again a special tinkering. During the conversation I have to make sure that only possible gestures of the speaker are visible. The immobile lips must remain invisible.
In the pics e.g. only Cmdr. Data ist talking and Prof. Xavier switches his gaze between him and Tom. All this should make a kind of sense and must not stop the flow of the conversations...
The "little" side story gets longer and longer ;D ;D
Just for easier understanding:
As a teacher for defense against the dark side of the force, "Professor Machete" of course also gives Klingon lessons.
You can almost hear him mutter, "Yes, exactly! Learn martial arts, pain and discipline ..."
In the short animation you see that Cmdr. Data thinks that this kind of detention is too excessive. Tom Paris is simply panicking and even Groot seems to be nervous.
Danny Fist Pump - RAW Test Rendered bis F100.mp4
But of course "Professor Machete" was just kidding! He's actually a very nice guy. And if Tom learns well and promises not to skate on spaceships anymore, then he may meet the professors loved pet ...
Well, back then when "Professor Machete" was still working at Hogwarts, he once got a baby kaiju from Haggerit. He had to get rid of him because he had mistakenly mistaken him for a dragon.
His name is ... Oh you'll find out :)

Here the scene very raw "testrendered":
Tyler streichelt Godzilla - RAW Test Rendered LQ.mp4
And of course new Credits ;)
Godzilla kaiju titan Low-poly 3D model by huykhoi2407 on CGTrader
Another side story getting longer :o But it's worth all your efforts! The movements of the kid and fist pump are terrific. Nice new pet too :P It's like a space zoo.
In the last image - is that Danny Trejo?
Yep - That is Danny Trejo. I saw the Model on CGTrader and I wanted it immediately.
I was always somehow a fan of Machete and of "Uncle Machete" in Spy Kids... :)
Today it's update day...
...simply because I wanted to draw a brief summary of how the previous animations fit together. :)
(this time only 720p - sorry)
I'll credit some new model makers later. I first must sort my archive a bit - it's a mess! :)
And all this happens on only ONE ship of the fleet before the start... ;D
Enjoy...
Oh yeah, I enjoyed!!! Thanks very much, once again, for sharing these gems :D
Thank you very much :)
It is always a new motivation for me when I see your enthusiasm and joy :)
no end in sight -- here is another one:
as I told under Image Sharing ... more Rip Van Winkle Models :)
I think Sarah Hall from Call of Duty Black Ops 3 by Rip Van Winkle on Renderhub looks a lot like the female Starbuck aka Kara Thrace in the newer Galactica TV series from 2004-2009.
And yes you have seen right ... there IS Wrex from Mass Effect in the animation ;D
The limitations as so often: only directly merged animation frames with Microsoft Moviemaker... But still everything rendered 100% with TG and no postwork :)
Really love this work, Doc! It's always so great.
I only have one C&C, and it's really just about Terragen. Boy-oh-boy do we need better lens burst effects. Different sided stars (for example for realistic space scenes 4 sided star burst effect would be more accurate aligned top-to-bottom, left-to-right), as well as effects like just linear flares seen in a lot of scenes like this (like Star Trek 2009)
That look in her eyes! Fantastic. Like the guy has eaten a lot of garlic :P

;D ;D ;D Indeed - I didn't think about that - but you're right. I was only a little proud of my "eyes-work" against that stare of most original models.

Sometimes I agree with you, Jordan. It would be quite cool. But on the other side it keeps me a bit on the ground to be limited to what we have. I still only use a maximum of 1-2% of TGs potential regardless of the fact that I neglect the landscaping far too much. :-[ ::)

Well; equip one of the rooms in the spaceship with a replica of Earth landscape, a retreat for overworked aeronauts, so they can sit and ponder by a 'stream'. Of course glimpses of riveted steel should be visible in the 'sky'.
