Title: Removing lines form Lunar recon Images
Post by: mash on April 23, 2021, 08:35:27 AM
I'm applying a lunar reconsanice tiff file as a height field. In the original image there lines where the data from the passes was stitched together.
For the most part terragen does a good job of removing the lines. Problem is the client wants and cleaned up tif file for use in other applications.
Does anyone know of a good way to remove these lines, with out a lot of photoshop work, and still keep most the data intact?

im afraid photoshop is the only solution or some denoiser/blurring software where you gotta pick up these nasty lines.
since these datas are embed in the tiff you dont really have much alternatives in my opinion

That's what we ended up doing. Taking the 16 bit tiff into photo shop and blurring it a bit.
Unfortunately it loses some of the detail.
I'm working on reading some it back in int ZBrush just to create a diffusion map so the details looks like it's there but not really.
There are some wire removal tools in nuke that may work but I'll have to tinker with that idea later.
Thanks,
Michael
