Title: Glass shaded parts blocking direct light, need help
Post by: N-drju on May 07, 2021, 12:17:24 PM
Hey Guys,

I'm working on an object which has some parts designated as windows. I apply glass shader to those.

The problem is that when I take a look from inside the object the "glass" shaded windows completely block out the sunlight. The interior is not pitch-black but there is no sun line either.

It is not possible to turn the shadow off for just a single object part...

So what should I do? Make separate glass object with no shadow?

You need to separate all your glass as a separate object, and disable cast shadows.

However the glass should make that parts opacity 0 and allow light in from my tests, but maybe that's PT only.

This is what I thought. Oh well, nothing unmanageable.

I think it's PT only, indeed. I always have trouble with eyes darkening with the glass over it.
