I stumbled over a nice Terragen tutorial which explains how to render the moon.
So I created a scene according to this Tutorial and ended up with some great moon renderings.
To give all viewers the right impression, I upload my renderings in 4K Resolution.
I used the displacement map in 23K and the color map for the moon is just 16K (I just have 8GB RAM).

Then I tried to create another true color map for the moon and rendered the far side with this map.
So here is a cool rendering from the back side and a window, which has been rendered in 4K to see what we got.
