Title: fun little game/challenge
Post by: Balletdude on July 19, 2021, 10:28:03 AM
Does anyone watch Corridor Crews videos on Youtube?
They did a challenge yesterday using 3D software to follow along with a Bob ross tutorial
What do people think of having a little go ourselves? We find a video, and the challenge is to recreate the same image, using terragen. The only assets you can use are free ones that are available on line so no paid or custom ones? Also no time limit.
If there is a moderator and you think it's a good idea maybe pick a video and make a new post (or add to this one) leave it open for a week and then the winner is decided by the number of likes on each persons post?

I don't think I've ever done anything like this. Sounds interesting. But with Terragen you aren't really sculpting worlds. Matching real world stuff or reference with procedurals and simple shapes is a lot of work. I've only seen a few examples here, and they were accomplished by some of the most experienced among us.

I can't find it, but I think Hannes did a island scene from reference years ago that turned out really good. I was shocked.
