Title: Scaling Strata?
Post by: René on July 08, 2022, 04:46:32 AM
It seems that the Strata and outcrops shader cannot be scaled by a Transform shader, or can it?  I have a group of textures, including some Strata's, that I want to scale together as a group. How would I go about doing that(preferably without blue nodes).

I don't think that's possible, so you may have to end up adding a smaller/bigger scale strata to the other group.

Too bad. The stratas I use must have exact proportions to the other textures, so random settings don't work. Then there's nothing left but to reconfigure everything each time. :P

I really wish this shader just didn't use final positions, but position in texture, or at least offered the mode.

You could try using the Sinus Frequency Shader to do something, or convert the terracing effect shader share to texture space

The alter is a method I sometimes use to warp and tilt strata, but it's a bit awkward; take your strata through a displacement to scalar function, etc.
