Some time ago I made a grass patch in Blender. This is the first time I have exposed it to public viewing :-\
Wooooooo (doing the rocking hands thing).
Nice subtle layers in the terrain.
The plants do also look good, but I do have to ask: are you among the red-green challenged? Maybe its just my screen, but to me the foreground plants look very green indeed.
Maybe you recreated Sir Percy Percys greatest discovery:

Blessed are the Sir Percy Percy's of this world for they shall inherit the Green planet: . . . . . Mars. ;D
I'll have a go at desaturating them a bit.
It was more a matter of moving the hue more towards the red end of green rather than desaturation. But someone will have to tell me if the green I've got now is more grass-like. :D
That's a bit better
Yes, to me it now looks relatively unobtrusive, fitting the look of your environment. I would make it 10% darker, but thats just my taste, not about realism. Looking out of my window I think your initial GREEN is surely not impossible in nature, just not what i would expect in a semiarid setting like yours here.
Best Regards,
