Is that the remnants of an abode of medieval reclusive monks I see near the summit?
To get deep compacted snow like this, is it just a matter of displacement?
I made a soft terrain first, then after the compute terrain the rocky displacements, and if you then smooth in one of the surface layers (the one with the snow colors) the stones will smooth 'away' where unmasked. So you can use a PF mask or distribution shader by angle, or displacement intersection.
And yes, monks are shivering, and praying for spring ;D
