As I know, you can export VDB files from the UI. You can right-click on a cloud node in the Node Network and select "Export VDB File...". You can choose an output filename and select "Save". The voxel generation process will begin and a progress window will appear. When it has completed generating the voxel buffer, it will save the buffer to the file. You can use the # symbol to add the frame number to the file name.
