At least, I think that's what these are. I don't recall ever seeing this before.
Two images attached, cropped from a recent rendering: an original and one that's been darkened to show the edges more clearly. The lines seem to occur only in the clouds (Easy Cloud).
I just noticed this, so no more info yet.
This isn't a big problem, because it's a small part of the image and the lines are virtually invisible. If they do show up they can easily be retouched out. But has anyone ever run into this, and is there a fix?
Looks like the same problem as this thread? I wonder if it's a recently introduced bug https://planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,30867.0.html
I haven't seen anything like this occur in my renders, but I may have overlooked. I'll keep an eye out.
I don't know what's causing this. Can you send us the project so we can run some experiments? I think just the TGD file would be sufficient, unless you have any image masks on the clouds.
I guess it could be the robust adaptive sampler. We'll test it out if you can send us the TGD.
Thanks, Matt. But I've been unable to replicate that rendering today. I make daily backups and used the same scene file and GI cache, but the edges don't appear when I render it now.
Apologies for the false alarm. It they reappear I'll make sure to immediately save out a file for you.
