This is just the first instalment of a scene I'm building in Terragen 2, I don't get much rendertime these days, what with a new job etc so, images don't appear as frequently as the did before from me, I'm still always rendering though so stay tuned.
This is kind of inspired by the new upcoming game 'Spore', where your sandbox editor view contains caricatured versions of your worlds etc. Check it out!

If a tiny Moon viewed in the sky is known as a moonlet, then this little fellow is known as a 'Planlet'. Let me tell you why...
To get a real sense of what I mean, consider the following:
1. This planet is hovering about 5 metres above the ground(the shiny black plane).
2. The cloud height level around the planlet is 1 metre high.
3. The volcanO has an inner diameter of 1.75 meters.

Like I say, this is just part 1 of this but I'm posting it as I think it looks pretty decent (for a first-run test of my tiny planlet) already.
Still to come:
Some ocean transparency...
More ecosystems/landmarks/etc's...
PYRAMIDS!...
Possibly a table globe holder and stand set upon a desk?...
I need some way to get this planet into a regular scale scene...

As I get this together I'll post the updates...
wow, now this is darn cool, i think this would make a globe everyone wants in his livingroom ;D
That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Superb work!
This is killer! Awesome work my friend!
nice, great idea
Thanks folks but, it's nowhere near finished just yet.
Bear with me... :)
Nice idea and looking good so far.
Isn't there a children's story with a planet about that size?
very cool idea!

If I remember correctly The Little Prince also had a lamppost ;)
Very nice and lots of fun. It reminds me of number 42, for some reason.
Very nice work, great idea and well executed. I'm also looking forward to Spore, although they're taking way too long with it, and a lot of that seems to have been a shift in the art direction to a more cartoony look, which I'm not a fan of...

That's very bizarre :o ... can't wait to see the next update! :)
