very nice image. a cool effect would be having the sun visible beneath the roof, or just over it. I like the rays, and the clouds/water are nice too

I kind of like the dark "Just missed it", lighting. What about adding some reflection to the flat surfaces on the jetty so that it looks as though it has recently rained?

That's a very good suggestion! Also came in my mind directly and really would like to see that too.
For esthetic (how do you spell?) reasons, at least mine, I'd position the sun on the left side of the image. More balanced and you can also get those nice reflections on those flat surfaces a lot easier.

Looking good, should turn out well. Reminds me of one the pictures that come loaded on windows though.
