Title: Cumulus clouds take 1
Post by: elscorpio on January 24, 2008, 06:57:16 PM
Hi

First post from me, just started experimenting with terragen and jumped right right to the clouds.  ;D

As you can se on the image still trying to get rid of the noise in the light beams below the clouds.

To that effect, does anyone has any good advice ?

I manage to get some of it away (picture on top), but there is still some left. I did that by increase the samples in the atmosphere node. of course that dramticly increasedthe rendertimes  :-\

regards

elscorpio

nice clouds....atleast better than my first clouds....

if you want to get rid of noise in the rays...you will have to increase the atmosphere samples....and now that I read your comment...you already know that!

lower the density to around 0.06 and edge sharpness to around 2....

Thanks

Yes i believe you right, after looking a little closer at some of the post it's seems this is the only way getting rid of the grainyness.

Set your atmosphere at or above 48.

Excellent clouds: Proper Job  ;D

I tend to set my atmosphere samples to 64 and adjust if needed.

While the clouds are the focus of this image I usually add a moderate displacement to the terrain to provide interest and a distance cue.
