Title: Aurora Solaris
Post by: Zonic Blazer on February 08, 2008, 05:29:13 AM
Hey y'all.  ;D

As you probably have noticed, I'm a newcomer. :) My name is David and I live not too far from Oslo city in Norway (however, I was born in Houston and moved to Norway when I was 5).

I'm kinda having problems figuring out how I'm supposed post the picture here... Please forgive me if I've done anything wrong.

I haven't been working with Terragen 2 for too long, so I'm still exploring its numerous abilities (I'm totally in love with it).

I'd appreciate some constructive feedback/criticism.

Thanks for viewing!

Hi there and welcome  :)

Not too much to criticise about this, its a nice render. Maybe up the atmosphere samples, as its a bit grainy in the shadows, though this will up the render time quite a bit, and maybe a bit more variation in the rock texture, merging a few slightly different colours etc. Apart from that I think its a damn fine render. Nice rays and great displacement on the rocks.

I like the displacements in terrain!

The terrain is quite excellent, but I do think maybe a bit more variation in colour tone would help a bit.

I agree with DH - nice displacements!  The rays are cool and I like how the light is hitting the rocks.  A little more texturing of the rocks would make this rock!   :P

Nice work.

Very nice terrain, I like the variations, though it could do with a few more smaller displacements. Like Calico said, vary your colors a little and you'd have a winner.

Thanks all for the wonderful feedback! I appreciate a lot! :)

Oh, and yeah, until next time I'll remember the color variation. ;)
