this looks good but maybe a little less edge sharpness and the horizon is completely dark....

luv it, moody and dramatic. Needs some feature, perhaps an island or rocky outcrop with a ruined scottish castle?

I love it...but I'm jealous that you got that water from Phylloxera.   ;D

Great work guys! Like the dramatic effect, cool black horizon...indeed like a monster cloud closing in :)

Very menacing, Seth!
I love the central band of cloud, near photo realism, but the near and far edges seem a little noisy, I agree, a little less edge sharpness would do those areas the world of good but I fear you might lose the detail in the central band by doing that.
Nice job though, it takes patience, and guts, to fill TG2 with this much volumetrics!
I know you'll probably tweak this, you usualy do, can't wait for the re-run...

W  O  W!!! This is outstanding. The clouds are just perfect, as is the colouring and the lighting. In fact the whole image is perfect. This should be rendered huge... I mean HUGE, you know.... a 2 year render type huge. It would look great hung on the wall, about 1.5m long.

I love it.  The detail in the clouds is amazing.

EDIT: Agree with Mr-Miley.

"This should be rendered huge... I mean HUGE, you know.... a 2 year render type huge." Mr. Miles

...two year render - LOL !!!!  :D

Back in "the day" on DA, I had a 28 day render.  And they said I was crazy!

Awesome skies here!  I would be looking for rain gear!

Quite forbidding. I agree that if you turn down the edge sharpness things would smooth out a little, but otherwise, nicely done!

Thanks guys ! I'll try to tweak the clouds to get rid of the sharp edges ^^
not now though... but i know i'll come back on this one (you're riiight dandelO)
as for the huge render... well this one was rendered on Phylloxera computer because on mine it crashed... (i have only 1 Go RAM) sooo... perhaps later ^^

and no crashes ?! Oo

It has happened before, usually when using multiple, large populations.

I use 512 aswell, early versions of TG2 crashed a lot but, I can't say there are many crashes on mine now, usualy only if I do silly things, like making an accidental loop in the node network, that's an instant shutdown, do not pass Go, do not collect £200, do not have the ability to save!  :D

You forgot - Miss a turn while you reload the scene lol

I must agree the clouds look amazing, but i can't help thinking the rest of the scene is missing something. I'd go with the scotish backdrop, perhaps turn the water into a loch and do dramatic mountains etc, with rolling mist for the perfect stormy look.

but great work
