This is a rework of an older .tgd I'd made for a contest on Terranuts, where the theme was bridges. I've removed the bad looking reeds and fixed the whole scene overall, I think it's better... What say you?
Some of the models are downloaded free from the net, if you recognise any, let me know so's I can credit you, I forget where I pick most of these things up.
Models:
Paper boat - Mine, folded up in Carrara 6 Pro and skinned with a screenshot of an old TG 0.9 tutorial .pdf. Goodbye, trusty old friend!
Bird - Mine, (Carrara 6 Pro content).
Ivy - Mine. (Ivy Gen)
Trees - Mine, (created in C6P)
Grass and background terrain (Mt. Rainer 4097) - Sonshine777.
Bridge - ...???...
Lilies - ...???...
All my own atmo/clouds/surface/etc...
I've put v.2.0 up here too for comparison. (v.1.0 is in the scraps of my DA page if anyone's sad enough to want to see it.)
Thanks for looking! :)
Files too big to post both together, here's the old one for comparison...
Cheers!
Wow, I love the new version, the bridge looks much more natural in the scene and i love the vegetation growing on it, and the grass is brilliant. A job well done
Sort of dreamy. Really pleasant.
Looking Good! :) It is defiantly more open. I love the ivy growing on the bridge,(how many runs did you have to do to get the ivy looking right?) I think that maybe a couple of cattails would still look good. I have created a new one and will try to upload it at Ashunder and Terranuts. It is more natural looking and has a water displacement mask that I have been working on, you just place it at the same coordinate as the cattail or other water plant and scale it to your liking. I think it would work for the lily pads also.
That grass looks incredibly good - very natural bend and distribution. Not that "stiff" look most grass has...

great work!
The cattail model is uploaded and approved on Ashunder! Haven't been able to get the Terranuts site to upload, it keeps timing out while uploading.
Thanks folks! :)
Scout Master Sonshine ;): The ivy is actualy 2 ivy objects, one grown from each side of the bridge, it wasn't really tricky to do, just adjusting growing/weight levels in the Ivy Generator so that it grew past the halfway point from both sides. All the leaf/branch sizes in the 'birth' window are all defaults.
This water displacement image mask, that sounds nice... It'd be nice if that could be combined with a population.
And, since I mention populations... I had a little brainwave at work today for staggering the height levels of a population that is set in the air, e.g. a flock of birds or some such, I'm making a little demo .tgd to show this now. When I've used populations of birds in flight before I've always just relied on scaling each instance from about .25 - 1.5 of the original to give the illusion of depth, great from a distance, looking up, but not for anything eye-level, I'll post it here soon, I think it'll work.
Oshyan: Thanks but, the real credit for that grass goes to Sonshine777, a lovely, natural looking model.
Thanks again, all! :)
This new one is great. Being very new to Terragen 9. I would be very interested to know how to import objects from other 3D software (DWG, DXF, 3DS?) Are there tutorials on this subject?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

The above image was created in Terragen 2, which can import 3D models. Terragen 0.9 does not have this capability.
