Title: Open Seas
Post by: overlordchuck on February 16, 2008, 12:13:52 PM
I just rendered this as a 320x240 preview.  I'm extremely hesitant of rendering the full thing, because this tiny little preview took just a little over an hour to render :o

But anyway, I don't know where I saw it, but someone said if you just connect a terrain up to a water shader rather than the base colors, it makes a really cool-looking ocean.  Again, I don't know where I saw that, but it is a sweet idea.

I agree.  Some blue-green surface and a little transparency (to come), would make this especially nice.  And some foam.   ;D

Look very promising but 1 hour for a 320x240 preview  :o

For a quick render, you disable the parameter "ray traced reflection" in the "reflective shader". The result is the same !

Thanks, guys!

@Phylloxera: I'll try that next time I can render.  Thanks a ton for the tip.
