Title: Cattails & Lillies Sunset
Post by: sonshine777 on February 19, 2008, 04:10:56 PM
Another test scene for the lily model and I included the cattail model. Thanks to mr-miley for the
Aesculus, (horse chestnut tree) what a fine tree it is. :)

:whistles in amazement:

nice job with the water and object placement, very effective. I like the atmosphere colors, but I think the clouds could be better.

The foreground works very well but the flat horizon looks artificial.  Could you add some low hills in the distance to break it up and give depth?

Nice job on the clouds also.

Just out of curiosity is the displacement around the base of the cattail seen in the preview on the download page derived from one of the procedural hurricanes?

The displacement around the cattails is just a few loosely drawn rings done in Photoshop with a radial blur applied to soften the edges. The image is black and white same as all of the masks I use. I am playing around with ripples that follow the shore of the pond that work much the same way.

Nice work. The sky colors rock.
