Title: Rays landscape no. 2
Post by: mr-miley on February 25, 2008, 11:15:03 AM
Hi all.

Just a re-working of my test http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=3303.0 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=3303.0) Added tree populations and a thing on the hill and played with the clouds a bit. Only rendered this at .8 quality hence a bit grainy. I may have a fiddle with the populations at some time....

I wonder what this would be like if you unchecked Enable Primary in all of your clouds and had a least 32 (or higher) samples in the atmosphere.

I think this pic will look much better if you were to tilt the camera down a little so that sun is on the edge of the pic....that way you will have more ground showing and hence imply the sense of scale a little better.....I also like the surfacing on the ground but the greens a too saturated for my taste.....and of course you need to get rid of the grain....if you need help rendering at higher quality....I can help....I have a spare core sitting and doing nothing...

Nice looking work so far :)
I agree with Dhaval about the saturated colors.
You can get rid of the grain by increasing the atmo and cloud samples, detail 0.8 is just fine.

@ Calico: disabling primary would look really cool, though a bit unnatural probably ;D

I really like the light spread effect on here.

Gorgeous rays! The noise is probably coming mostly from the atmosphere, so increase samples if you want to reduce it.
