Well, it didn't turn out quite as fantastic as I had hoped for during the test renders but that is too late to change now. :) I should have lowered the cloud altitude before rendering. These clouds are an altered version of a cloud tgc that DH posted sometime last year. 29 hours to render.
Convincingly realistic! 8)
Awesome! Love the huge cloudformations :) You're right about their altitude, but it's not really disturbing...
Good image formation and composition by the way, the vegetation looks nice as well.
Is it possible to take a look at your clouds?
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :)
Regards, Martin
great clouds formation ! a little darker clouds maybe ?
its growing alrite...
Very convincing indeed. You can almost smell the impending rain in the air. I like also the pov, with only the tops of the hills showing.

But this doesn't mean anything to me... or to Jack or to Mary. What were your main settings and machine specs? :P
oh I just noticed that you gave credit to me....thank you very much....and if you dont mind posting the unaltered TGC (I have been looking for it).
nice work... I like the camera position in top of the trees.... ;D
and the clouds..... I like your clouds....
Gastar
very nicely done good job

Great work ! I like this image ! Really natural !! (http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Respect/bravo-applaudi-147.GIF)
Fantastic job! The distribution and detail is great!
Nice, the only thing that bothers me is those mountains in the back.
Nice perspective Excellent lighting on the trees. Great bunches of clouds...good displacements.
Thanks for the comments. This isn't yet were I would like it to be but it is a good start. I just can't seem to get the sharp dark edges like there are in the real thing. About the background hills, I lef those as they were because I was trying to hurry out a render of the clouds. ;D
DH, here is the tgc. I think this is the orginal one you posted.

Getting dark edges is quite easy actually:
Choose dark cloud color and scatter color, like 0.1 and 0.4
Then increase fake internal scattering so that only dark cloud edges remain.
I will have to try that. Could you possibly post an example of what this can achieve? This is what I'm trying to get.
goddamn cloud !!!
if someone can do that, i'll pay for the tgd ^^
reminds me of a render from Luc Bianco

That image with the cloud looks almost exactly like the photo. Great find! And great work from Luc!
Great one nvseal.
Did you use any imape map's in this one for the clouds?

No, all procedural.
Agree with Seth93 - One question : the trees are a postwork or an objects ??

The trees and bushes are objects.
