There's nothing against using image map shaders in my opinion, as long as it is not too obvious and that's exactly the case here :)
Good use of imagemap, blends seemlessly into the scene. Nice work!

You certainly have that realism approach worked out. I like all of your renders you have posted here. Always crisp and interesting. This one is no exception. The water is great and if you didn't tell us there was an imagemap used I wouldn't know. You need to share more TGDs so that we can learn 8)
