Title: Stratagen
Post by: PG on April 11, 2008, 02:13:30 PM
Don't know if this should go here but it's the best fit. Does anyone have or no where Stratagen is available from? I just found it after reading one of the TGBlogs but the homepage for the program's gone and the alternate download link is missing.

I have the .exe to install this program. I used it occasionally with Terragen 0.09.

It's great, you can create Strata textures by just giving it colours to grade from. so give it a deep brown to a dusky orange and tell it how far you want the spacing, how persistent you want them and it calculates it for you and you can then save the output as an image to use with the image map shader.

Harvey, If you're interested, let me know and I'll e-mail you a zipped file of the .exe.

Got it. Thanks!

Is it publicly available anywhere? Or is it abandon-ware?

Thanks again, Bob.   :)

Aw man, I got a decent strata texture but I'm no good with distribution, I used the image map shader and the distribution shader to restrict it to near vertical terrain but it takes no effect, even with no fuzzy zone. Any clues on this?

Edit: check the blend by shader checkbox. hahaha. doy ::)

I was able to follow the link; and, the site is active.

It allows you to create Strata textures by choosing which colours to comprise of. it then generates the strata texture with these colours and the persistence level you set. For Example;

Kranky, the programmer simply forgot that he didn't create a new strategen download page yet. :)

edit: btw sorry, I didn't read the initial post carefully enough.
