Title: A Rocky Inlet
Post by: Inscrutable on April 15, 2008, 07:07:27 AM
Just a quick picture I've rendered following my return to TG2 after an enforced hiatus (my computer(s) blew up).  The rock is the old cracked face clip file with a surface layer with very fine displacement over the top (to give a rough appearance).  I've then cheated by applying an imagemap over the top of that.

I have to admit that I'd previously been hesitant to use imagemaps but actually this has turned out all right and I think I'll probably use the technique again in future.

The green areas of the water and achieved by applying a turquoise-coloured cloud fractal node to the water shader input node.

Interesting experimentation.  The rocks look weird, but cool and the water...not sure about the use of the green image maps.  Anyway, nice water.  Cool point of view.
