Title: Transparency possibilities
Post by: Mohawk20 on April 29, 2008, 10:58:33 AM
I was just wondering... what is possible with the transparent water.

I'm rendereing a big scene now that will take a while to finish on both cores, so I can't test it myself, but what if If you have overhangs in the shape of a cave (as we've seen a lot lately), place a light inside it, and then raise the water above it... what would be visible?

You mean the light been underwater?!?!? If so, this is what I got:
*the camera is at 8m above the ground;
*the ground is flat;
*the light source is at 0.5m above the ground, it's strength is at 3.5 and
*the water is at at 4m above the ground.
The light source is underwater.
I put the sun at -25° below the horizon to simulate a completely dark cave.

Cool!

My idea also involved displaced terrain with overhangs under the water, but this proves a lot!
