Title: Sunset Eclipse
Post by: PG on April 30, 2008, 04:08:42 PM
OK I finally got my eclipse looking halfway decent, plus with the new update it's a lot quicker so the quality settings are quite high.

Resolution: 1680x1050
Detail: 1.15
Atmosphere quality samples: 85
2nd planet quality samples: 48

Although after it finished rendering I noticed a problem with the microtriangles count, only a tiny GUI issue and probably already noticed.

Much more fun.  Too much one color, I think, but maybe that's how you wanted it.

Cool.   8)

Brillaint tones in the colors!  I can see where Calico is coming from with the lack of variation, but I feel like this effect has lots of merit.

Yeah I'm still working on Rayliegh scattering around the planet so if I can get that looking right then I'll add some greens around the corona.
