Title: Mesa revisited
Post by: Will on May 14, 2008, 06:40:08 AM
Back in TG 0.9.43 I was playing around and came across a nice plateau and spent the next three days rendering it, looking back on it its pretty ugly but I still liked the idea of a large wind blown rock structure in the desert so as part of the the geologic study I'm doing using Geocontrol 2 I thought I'd give to another shot. Theres a lot of PS in it, the blur, I changed the levels and the lighting a little and added the moon which was an old render of my moon obj. Its been a while since I posted any work so I though I'd share something.

I like the old TG image.  Nice point of view, cool color and nice lighting.  The TG2 - not sure, but I think the blurred foreground is distracting me.  I like the concept.  Think about adding some patches of trees and maybe changing the lighting.  But, this is my preference, more than critique.

I love the lighting and the POV in the TG2 version, but I absolutely HATE the blur effect. Get rid of that and you'll have a great image...
