nothing really new...
I'll try to add some vegetation later ;)

Nice stones and lighting.
[edit - it's my opinion you don't need vegetation. This stands on its own.]
Ils ont vraiment de la gueule ces cailloux, t'es passé maître dans l'art du "fake stones" - Joli paysage !
They really mouth these rocks, you're a past master in the art of "fake stones" - Beautiful landscape!
Great job with the stones! The variety and detail of their shapes looks amazing :).
I agree with all above, great work!
My only crit is that the water could be a little bit less rough.
Martin
I love this! One idea- maybe try a render with some light fog coming in off the sea- and maybe a little dampness to the rocks?
monks
Fog is a good idea, but it's already great as is!
thanks all !
i didn't have the time to improve yet but i will ! so i'll try the fog (maybe) and i am not sure what kind of vegetation i am going to add ^^
Now thats a lot of stones! Cool, but I'm not too keen on the water meets land area, perhaps making it look wet? perhaps a little algae on the shoreline? Great sense of distance though and I can't wait to see what vegetation you put in!
maybe nothing new, but beautiful nonetheless, Seth.
Thanks for posting this!
Frank
Nice one Seth.
The stones still look a bit artificial in the foreground but the rest is already great!
If you add vegetation, it'd be best only to add some grass or similar, imo. :)
i am rendering a first evolution with some reflective shader and some green touch where the water meets the rocks... hopefully it will be over in 10 hours... vegetation will come later...
Belle réalisation,j'aime beaucoup!
t evolution... not exactly what i wanted but... i liked the clouds so i post it ;)

Superbe!!!
I think this ones even better. Love the water and clouds. Very nice image.
thanks but i don't like the reflective shader on the big rock on the middle ^^
EXCELLENT! I like the moss a lot.
As for the reflective shader.... reduce the higlight intensity for 3/4th and you'll be ok ;-)
Wow. Fantastic work. You always have superb lighting.
... or just limit the height of the reflective shader to a level where it looks like the rocks were splash over by the water. Fantastic stuff thou... the compostion and pov truly rock! ;)
looks good this far....look forward to the next one!

Excellent! I like the clammyer feel to this.
monks
It's just as cool as the first one. ;D
Excellent work.
One tiny nit-pick; shouldn't the moss close to the water line also look damp?
Here's the default TGD setup with GI turned on (at 2).
This took 44 hours on a quad. The difference is very subtle with GI turned on, the rocks look less sharp. Just thought I'd try this out.

can't see it... i'll check with IE... perhaps Firefox doesn't like it ^^
yeah me neither...I'm using IE by the way.
I think I like it better without GI. Strange...
mmmh almost no difference to my eyes... hehe that confirms my thoughts... i'll still use GI only for dark scenes ;)
Yep, really is a case of 'spot the difference'.

Seth, I thought of this render when I saw this guys site. Check it out.

oh thanks for the link !!!
some great pictures there Oo
This brings it back to what this is about - enjoyment. Thanks for the link!
Both of these images have GI, which is why they look very similar. Did you mean that you enabled "GI surface details"? That is just an enhancement which calculates additional GI detail or Ambient Occlusion details in the final render pass, mostly to improve contact shadows and improve crispness of the GI or Ambient Occlusion at the smallest scales in image space. It adds a lot to render times, so I would only use it if cropped tests show that it really helps an image. To disable GI completely, disable the Enviro Light.
Matt
thank you for the explaination Matt !
