Pretty good, Martchi.  A little dark, but then it would be.  The challenge becomes then (if you want it), how to fake the eye into thinking that the pupil can change to see what is in the dark.  The only thing yet that I think TG2 has that would work for this, besides Soft Lighting, would be the ambient occlusion setting and I haven't given it much thought.  This is untested and undiscovered territory.  It also means finding that balance between dark and light so the eye is tricked into thinking that when it looks at the image, the eye is looking into the image.

I'm still trying to figure out cool displacement, so don't mind my ranting about.   ;D

Cool work, Martchi.

I really love the sky on this one. Nice clouds and lighting.
And yes, the image is a bit dark. On the other hand it is maybe a strong point because the majority images are very well lit, sometimes even overlit.
If I look at the sky, background terrain (nice displacements!) and the foreground with vegetation and fake stones I'd say it's quite photorealistic but to me the water makes the image look too CG.
Perhaps less noizy water will improve the photorealistic look.
In overall very good work! :)

Cool work, Martchi.

You can use ambient occlusion and GI together, but it needs careful tweaking/settings. I've tried it on some of my older render, I'll see if I can find some.

This has a great photographic quality to it, might be the jpg compression but sweet all the same.
You can also pull shadow detail out if you save your image as an exr and tweak the image in an hdr image editor such as PhotoMatrix.
Another method is to render two images, one with Global Illumination and one with Ambient Occlusion and blend the result in PhotoShop.

I really thought this was a photo (untill I finally found the fake stones that are a wee bit uniform)!

The sky has amazing detail and wispyness, fitting on a stormy day.
The darkness and backlight on the tree make it even better (great tree).
The realistic haze distance and choice of texturecolours finish it.

Print and slide in the photo album!

Beautiful sky and mood - feels brisk and a bit nippy, and I can hear the water chopping about. I'd only suggest you try adding a reflection shader (specular very rough) to the ground surfaces, and one to the leaves? I suspect it might make a big difference.

I have to say, though, the clouds are stunning. The perfect balance between edge roughness and main smooth bulk, and density.

This has some of the most realistic surface lighting I've seen yet.  Very nice!

I too thought this was a photo, for the briefest of moments anyway. ;D Very nice work. The sky is particularly convincing. I don't mind the darkness either - it looks like a photograph exposed for the sky and water reflections rather than the ground...
