It's Houdini lock stock and... so yes Mac too :).

I never thought I'd say it... but I'm seriously considering going Mac for my next machine. I'm currently on Vista64 which is 'fine', but still I know I'm taking a speed hit. I can't use Linux because I have what I believe is a rare allergy to the X render server (my eyes suffer excruciating pain - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=770293&highlight=sore+eywa). I now read news of Snow Leopard being an optimised platform (openCL and Grand Central - http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=461) and although it may all be Jobsie hype it still sounds promising all the same at this early stage. I've got faith in SideFX being on the ball tech wise and that they will pick up on what needs to be picked up on, so fingers crossed if there's anything in it - http://odforce.net/wiki/index.php/Optimization%2C_Threading_%26_GPGPU . I believe they're still trudging forward with the Cell thing too...

:)

EDIT: as a Houdini 9.5 teaser, here's  a polish forum with some info - http://66.102.9.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&tl=en&u=http://www.forum3d.pl/f3dbb/index.php%3Fmd%3Dtopic%26tid%3D123894%26pg%3D1 - third post form the bottom.

I have the old registered version but haven't upgraded as of yet. I downloaded the Demo with the 513 limit on terrain output size. However I have used 513 terrains in tgtp with pretty good success as I can't tell much difference between 513 vs. 4097 when loaded in TG. I do plan to register for the upgrade though, if for no other reason then to give support for the development. Good luck to you guys having problems installing. Have you posted your install problems at the WM Community?   http://forum.world-machine.com/index.php (http://forum.world-machine.com/index.php)
