Title: Clouds and stones
Post by: maulsull on June 13, 2008, 05:17:49 AM
Playing around trying to isolate some large clouds. Pretty happy with the clouds, stones a bit noisy at the moment and need a bit more work.

Interesting clouds especially the superior part. The lower part has a rather strange I think!

I agree about the stones, if you can manage to improve them the image will become very very nice.
I really like the clouds a lot. The cloud depth is amazing and I'm never able to achieve those white billows across the entire depth of the cloud somehow. Can I take a look at your cloudsettings if you do mind? Thanks in advance.
The second cloud layer works well with the major cloud layer in the foreground, in the background it doesn't look as nice as in the foreground.
Maybe you can replace them by some cirrus (slightly streamed) clouds?
Looking forward to see an update of this one, good work!

Martin

The clouds need a bit more reality fluff.  Studying real clouds reveal layers and randomized fluff.

I've been trying to improve on this TGD, maulsull, and have been unable to do much better.  I am beginning to believe your work is about a 95% and my 5% criticism is more hard work.  Thanks so much for letting us in on what you've already done with this.

If I manufacture something I think looks worthy from your TGD, I'll post it back here.

[edit - here I was talking about the clouds - still looking at this]

Thanks for the tgd and the clouds. A nice foreground (IMO) can be made by generating the heightfield, and adding some perlin noise.

Thanks for sharing those clouds.

I have been playing around with them and although this is probably not what you were after this result is interesting.  Just your scene with Inver profile checked under the cloud layer tweaks tab.

Since a couple others are throwing theirs in, here's what I did after taking the already incredible work and adding a few things.  Not really happy with this and will submit the TGC, when I am.
