Title: Rock Study version 2
Post by: inkydigit on July 12, 2008, 11:07:53 AM
same as my last post, with some added functions as displacement(voronoi)...I also shuffled the order of the layers...and changed the pov slightly...thanks for taking time to comment/critique, as these are always welcome and appreciated!

Looks really nice, though the renderer seems to have generated some sharp shadows (which I see frequently in images with certain types of displacements, including my own).  Hopefully this issue will be resolved down the road.

Good lighting.  The patterns in the rocks look like an image map.  Or not?

the small displacements?
no, these are power fractal(s)...there is one image map(projected through the render camera), combined with several pf's, the image map layer was with a small fractal breakup value and was mainly used to break up the colour of the other power fractal layers.
:)
thanks for your input everyone!
this is an experiment that may continue!!!
