Title: Cloud pixels?? Jaggies??? Please help!!
Post by: odd on January 12, 2007, 02:47:19 PM

Hi All!

Im getting gray haired in a big way...

I've tried to remove these squarish pixels/jaggies from my clouds...they appear as soon as I put some extreme values into the cloud fractal and do a render @ 4500x2250pixels. (see supplied crop)

I tried to raise the cloud quality, atmosphere quality, render detail, GI settings...noting works. The only way I can get them to disappear is to change the fractal scale....however that's not what I want to do..and since this is all fractal procedurals, why do I get square pixel-like artefacts like these??

..maybe I have missed some quality setting somewhere...maybe Im too extreme with some values...maybe its just me...but Im all out of ideas...so anyone? Feel like taking a look at the supplied tgd file?

Please! :)

cheers

I just tried the file and can confirm it is an Acceleration Cache issue. Turn it off and be prepared for a long render time ;)
