Title: High POV
Post by: schmeerlap on July 30, 2008, 05:47:41 AM
Like Buzzzzzzzzzzzz   . . . . (sorry I nodded off there) I am not averse to post working a Terragen scene (think Matte painting). The figure Photoshopped into this Terragen scene is from a royalty free stock photo. He's not really pot-bellied, although it's not too evident at his reduced scale, he has a rope slung over his left shoulder. As the trees are kinda' down-there distant, and shrowded in mist they are rendered in low quality (my one core churner exhaled an audible sigh of relief). A rock texture image map was X projected onto the cliff, giving a stratified appearance. I wasn't expecting that effect, but thought it was ok, so left it. The outcrop from which the guy is peering down is a Power Fractal with Distance Shader applied.

That looks totally real, and the addition of the man makes the scene look really big. I love the lighting on the rock, too!

Pretty well done.
