Is there currently a way to export a whole scene successfully to any 3d application?

Not that I know of.

There are ways to move terrain to another application.

Complete scene export is unlikely to be supported in the near future since there is no container format that would be likely to contain all elements. We intend to support import/export to the degree that it facilitates effective communications and interchange with other applications and allows working toward high quality finished images.

Geometry export is in place in a basic form now and will be improved in the future. Texture export may also be implemented, but will always be problematic due to the detail advantages of procedural textures and TG's heavy reliance on them for both color and displacement. Camera and other data interchange (for example sun/lighting positions) will also be implemented/improved in the future. This will be a major part of our focus following the coming "gold" release.
