I decided to take a quick break and whip up a "sunset" image featuring some of those new GI techniques mixed with a real light source. Its nothing fancy, but I think it turned out nicely.
The terrain is just a simple power fractal, with extra fractals stacked to add additional detail. Same with the color. The clouds are basic TG2 clouds, and the sky is the starry background I posted a few weeks back.
Minor postwork in Photoshop which included levels, color correction, selective sharpening.

Thanks for checking it out.
i love the atmo ;D the sun looks amazing great colours! the stars though let this image down they just seem to be plonked there and have now glow to the if it was my image i would just do all the star work within photoshop because at the moment stars within terragen look far to sharp and fake. plus if you are going for realism at this time of day you wouldn't see as many stars as you do in this image maybe one or two.
but apart from that the overall picture looks great especially the lighting :)
p.s would you be able to post a tgd file loaded with your gi lightning technique i still don't get how you do it and i would really like to know ;D
nice colours ^^
Commented at Renderosity, but I like it. Wonderful lighting.
:o :o Wow, i love the lighting and colors in this one!
I have to agree with the comments I've recieved on the stars. I think having the camera set to 100 degrees or so, and the fact that I had to resize the stars to fit the GI background, made the stars a little to stretchy and large.
Beautiful colors and atmosphere.

Fantastic image. Wish it was bigger. ;)
Simply amazing. I love the atmposphere
@moodflow: Will there be an update (i.e. bigger image) in the future? I like this one :D
Absolutely. I've been working on a similar image that has some new updates, so I'll just port those over to this one. Many thanks for looking.
