Here is a composited test image from the Mars film project which I've been given permission to show. The rover was created and rendered in 3ds Max while the landscape and atmosphere was rendered seperately in Terragen 2. The compositng was done by the team in Germany, not me ;D . There are two other finished shots involving mars from space and a hurricane on earth which I will hopefully be able to show here sometime too.

Looking very nice :).
Great work, lets hope we can see more shots and the film too. D) But why was it rendered in two passes, I could understand if the rover pass was in another package, Lightwave, Maya etc but why render both in Terragen, more compositing, dusts storms ,people walking behind the rover and the like ?
Keep rendering
Richard
I believe the rover was rendered outside Terragen. That's what happened in the finished images.

Didn't know we could do modeling in TG2? Or did you mean something else? Nice pic BTW!

That looks excellent. I presume this is going to be part of a moving shot at some point? Can't wait to see it!

Thank you. Yes, in the end this is going to be a part of a moving shot. There are two scenes involving Terragen images as backplates which are already done and animated. I'll see if I might be allowed to post a screen grab of them though you really don't get the full effect until you see it in motion ;).
@nvseal - Forget about the screenshots. ;D We want the in-game demo. :o

I'd bet that model could have been rendered in tg2 no problem with as good or better texture.
Kewl vehicle, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me in scale and function but looks great. Great render!!
