Title: For my Kids
Post by: choronr on September 19, 2008, 12:36:39 AM
The morning after an evening rainstorm in the desert; there is no place else I'd rather be. I dedicate this scene to my three kids: Kim, Tammy and Ken.

Thanks to the following people for:
•   The fake rocks and cracked rocks clip file – by Tangled-Universe
•   The Saguaro Cacti – edlo; and tweaked by buzzzzz
•   The grass – by klas
•   The bushes – by lightning
•   The two different flowers – by Bobby Stahr

The 2049 terrain is one I used for many other scenes most of which were made in Terragen 0.09; and, a few in TG2. It is downloadable from my web site www.imaginature.us . It appears the sixth one down from the top of the list. The terrain was created using a heightfield in Bryce and imported to Terragen 0.09 by Evi Moechel (Zazie) about six years ago.

Enjoy...

Very nice work.  Cool choice of terrain.

Lucky kids.

This looks very nice.  I like the dirt, rocks, and terrain.  The haze looks somewhat out of place though.

Either way, thumbs up!   8)

I have to agree.  This is an excellent image overall, the only slight let down is the mist, which doesn't quite ring true.

@moodflow and Mr_Lampost: Well, all I can say is that after a heavy evening downpour, you can almost always expect to see some either low clouds or heavy haze over the mountain tops. It usually burns off by noon. I'll have to take a picture next time to show you.

I wasn't doubting that the mist would be there, I just didn't think the thickness/ distribution looked quite right.
