Title: Afternoon Crossing
Post by: sonshine777 on September 27, 2008, 12:35:35 PM
Playing around with my covered bridge again.
I changed the POV, and the grass a little.
I also worked on the sky, and added a Queen Annes Lace model I built in C4D.
I know I haven't posted allot lately mainly because it takes so long for my
wimpy computer to render things (once I get the render settings to the point it doesn't crash).

This one too 138 hours to render
Detail: .85
AA: 11

My processor is an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 1.2 Gig with 3 Gig of Ram
Someday I hope to get a new machine.

Comments welcome as always.[attachimg=#]

138 hours.  O my gosh.  You've been patient.

I almost hate to say it, since so much work has gone into this.  But, it looks like this render is a little on the cartoon-like side.  If you wanted that, great.  If not, then consider doing things to bring lighting back around to more 3D-ish.  It looks sort of strong and flat.  If I can help, I'd say try bringing out more shadows by using only one direct light source with shadows turned on and a couple of other less strong light sources without shadows for some slight fill.  Maybe lower the sun.  I don't know.  I think you should have some more GI turned on, but 138 hours is a heavy price.

Maybe the water has something going on it that is heavy on the clock.  Do you have any reflective anything turned on anywhere?
