I've only recently started playing with Terragen 2, though I purchased the pre-release some time ago. I'm excited about the possibility, and have gone through all the tutorials I could (some just ended abruptly and others were no longer valid it appears). I just can't seem to get a handle on the node network though. I basically know my way around now the app itself and need, I think, just a little more hand holding to get to where I can at least understand it enough that I can experiment on my own. Any ideas from people on how I can traverse this valley of pain a little more quickly?? Thanks-
Have you taken Volker's terrain tutorial?
Not sure what that is, or where it is. I tried to do the pyramid one, but I wasn't able to follow it, and I assumed it was out of date, I was telling me stuff that didnt exist in the copy of TG2 I had. These are the only tutrials I'm aware of...

I would also have a look over at www.ashundar.com, where you'll find some other tutorials in the downloads section. Downloading example files and studying them always helps a lot. Of course, if you have specific questions, you can always ask them here.
I'm building up a library of scenes/setups for TG2 that users, new and experienced alike, can download and use as base models or just as reference points to learn from.
It's called 'dandelO's Public Library' and volume 1 can be found here at this link... http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=4922.0
I hope some of it helps you, any ?uestions, just ask. :)
And yes, EVERYONE should read Volker's power fractal tutorials, found here... http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=2287.0 They really helped me get to grips with a lot of things that I didn't at first understand.
I'd stay away from the higher end tutorials for now. Amazing things can be done with a few very basic nodes. I'd recommend downloading some basic .tgd's posted here on the forums and then working up from that.
