Title: Masking cloud layers
Post by: PG on November 04, 2008, 12:55:32 PM
I found a topic by moodflow that suggested a way of getting billowy clouds, however is it possible to use masks on clouds like you can with populations? I've tried replacing the default density shader with an image map, a power fractal with an image map as a blend but to no avail.

Should work perfectly.
If you use the imagemap in the y axis make sure you set its size to something suitable (eg. 1000's of meters).
Good luck

ok I'll give that a go. Cos you can't change the axis that other shaders are on, can you? Like, I dunno, if you wanted to put a crater shader on a cumulus cloud. How can you make the shader fit vertically (on the y axis)
