Title: First Larger Render
Post by: Esgalachoir on November 04, 2008, 06:20:22 PM
This is my first little experimentation with displacement nodes.  It was fairly simple to make.  It's called "The Behemoth"
I'm a noob and I'm not too sure what I'm doing yet, but T2 is awesome fun!

As said before, the colours are great, just as the rock!

Oh yeah, rather important to mention, I did a good deal of post-processing with Gimp 2.
I upped the contrast.
I did a local radial blur on the face of the rock facing the sun to get some bloom.  I believe I used a burn layer to do that, but I can't remember, it might have been an addition layer.(I should probably be writing things down like that from now on...)
I also performed a kind of soft-brightening effect on the ground close to the camera, I thought they turned out really bland, so I coloured them up a bit with that.
I did one final, very slight blur across the entire image to soften it up to my tastes.

A lot of post-processing if you ask me, but I dunno.
