Title: light through hills
Post by: lonewolf on November 12, 2008, 07:17:46 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong. But is still supposed to happen?
Atmosphere and cloud samples at 32, sunlight at 3.5, sun going through 2 hills?

Strange, I thought that bug was fixed a long time ago. Are you using the new beta?

Hi Iain

I may well be talking out of my backside........ but (or should that be butt  ;D )

I seem to remember that checking enable ray traced shadows in the atmosphere, quality tab makes this go away..... I may well be wrong though  ;D

Miles is correct, enabling "Ray-traced Shadows" in the Atmosphere Quality tab will resolve this. Unfortunately it also significantly increases render time. We do hope to find faster approaches to this in the future, but for now this is the intended solution.

Incidentally if you want to reduce noise in the image I would increase atmosphere samples. Cloud samples are probably high enough for now at 32.

Thanks guys. I vaguely remember something about this ages ago but have been out of TG for a while.
Yes, the render times are going up. Quite a lot.

Thanks for the suggestion Oshyan, I will be increasing atmo samples before my bigger render.
