Here is my new image. The beta version is great... now I'm waiting for the final ;)
I rendered it with a resolution of 2048x1024 (detail 0.9, AA 4) in ~1 hour and 50 minutes @ 4x 2,5GHz.

Really nice image... but where did all the resolution go? :P
PS: Don't hold your breath for the final, you probably would turn blue ;D
simple, yet nice scene. If it rendered so fast, you may want to add a few more fake stones distribtions with various sizes and color variations. I'm sure it would add greatly to realism.
Cheers,

A very fine scene. What settings did you use for clouds and the atmosphere?
love the terrain, and great details!...well done!
Agree with everything here. This is a great scene at no real cost to your CPU. Good work.
Excellent. I love the shape of the mountains. Is that the Alpine Shader, or a heightfield?

It's an alpine shader :)
