Title: terralights.de: Oaktree and Oaktree for populations
Post by: Klas on November 21, 2008, 03:20:08 AM
The Terralights.de Oaktree is ready for download and testing. It comes in two versions.

(http://www.terralights.de/files/uploads/forums/thumbs/t_oak4.jpg) (http://www.terralights.de/terralightsII/Forums/download/id=15.html)

The difference between the two versions: The normal tree has 1252061 polygons the oaktree for populations 331154. There I have removed the polygons for the small branches, but not the leaves. Also the normal tree has roots:

A render of the normal tree:

and a render of the tree for populations:

Please test it and let me know what you think. If you like it: there is a donation button on the left side of the download page ;)

the second image doesnt appear to exist anymore?
...looks great Klas...Danke!
I will try this for sure...you could use the hi-poly for near to the camera, and lo-poly for further away, using a distance shader...excellent!
is this the correct link for the lo-poly image?

Yes, after editing the id changed to 20. I have corrected it in my post, thank you.

Most excellent model. Superb. Many thanks.
Just a quick preview, close up to show just how good this one is.

Thanks for the very very nice Oak! I'm rendering a scene right now with the high quality one close up in the foreground and so far so good.
