Here's an image I did featuring the "Gnarled Oak" tree from Floraworks (many thanks guys!). I wanted a simple image featuring the oak, with a nice sunny backdrop. The grass is from Lighting, but with a few shader tweaks.

Res: 1024x786
Quality: 1
Render Time: 3h45m
Very minor post work in Photoshop: levels, color balancing, selective sharpening/blurring
For some reason, the oak was a bit on the dark side, but it seems to be isolated to his image only. I assume its just the lighting of the image itself.
Anyway, many thanks for looking. More to come.
hay this looks really nice!! i like how the bark of the gnarled oak turned out the leaves look a little dark though? im sure i set the translucency to a reasonable level
anyway the grass looks great i like the colour!
are those clouds made in terragen? the shapes of them look so natural and realistic ;D!
Yea, not sure why the leaves came out so dark. It could be the lighting. I have the translucency set to 2.
The clouds are standard TG2 clouds, with a few "inside tweaks". 8)
Wow moodflow. Ths is really great. The grass is really nice and the clouds are magnificent.
I agree about the leaves. They don't really fit in with the rest. The whole scene is so bright and sunny.

Should be in the next Harry Potter, moodflow. :)
I have seen oak trees like this, under the right lighting conditions sun light when the sun is at a certain angle is unable to produce Back-Light (This is were leaves appear at their most translucent) as we have here. Also if a trees canopy is of a certain density then due to multiple scattering, and that light falls off proportionally to distance traveled, the tree i question may look quite dark any way. All in all I like this image the way it is, the darkness of the tree and the brightness of its surroundings provide visual counterpoint to one another.
Regards to you.

Very nice work! Nice and simple (in presentation) and very realistic.
I love it. I love it. I love it.
A tribute to Lightning's creativity and craftsmanship as well as a significant work of beautiful art of Moodflow's. Though I'd wish for more gamma inside that tree to see the leaves and limbs better from here, this is a fine render.
Very nice image :).
