Well here it is on YouTube (anyone know of a better video host that don't compress the life outa everything)
Ice Yatch anim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwZ4uVVV_D8)
Watch in High Quality, makes some difference.
Took most of a week to render, I think that was down to the reflective shader.
Camera motion exported from Lightwave via the technique described here (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=5383.0).
No great artistic merit here, really just testing out some of the animation features. One thing I've noticed is the shadow popping on the distant mountains, now you see the shadow, now you dont. Any idea why that may be?

Is this high-quality? Maybe it's my connection to You Tube, but the (cool looking) animation has a blob appearance...very blotchy.
Very blotchy, yep the compression at YouTube sux big time. Anybody know of a decent video hosting service that don't blow when it comes to compression?
Richard
If I remember correct, you can put higher quality stuff into youtube by putting some extended black video to the end of your video. That way you can cheat the bitrate limitation
Whatever you do, let us know so we can see it. It looks interesting.
Also, if you want to upload it as a download file to Ashundar, I can take that and put it on our server. Files up to 100MB are allowed, but you probably won't need all of that ;).
Hi,
some say vimeo and veoh are better, but o.b.'s offer might be the
best,if it's possible sizewise.
J.
Hey, whatever the compression, this still looks cool as hell. Nice icy ground texture. Some sweeping and swerving on the actual craft as well as the camera would make this, already good job, better.
Thanks ob, I think I'll take you up on that :) File is only about 15 mb mpg so shouldn't be a problem.

Cyphyr,
Have you tried http://vimeo.com/ they allow full HD video 1280 X 720 over there and videos over ten minutes, that as you may know is the restriction on Youtube.
Regards to you.

Well I cant figure out how uploading to Ashunder works ... must have my thinkin all mussed up :)
vimeo link (http://www.vimeo.com/2556467)
I'll post a link in a mo.
Apparently the video is being "Converted", don't know what that means, thought Vimeo was supposed to avoid these things, guess I'll just have to wait n see.
Richard
Nice job. Looked a lot better! :)
Very cool. I like the way you did the camera path. With the clearer version you can see what you were saying about the shadow popping. What did you have your GI Blur Radius set to? To smooth out the lighting and reduce the flickering you may need to bump it up to 300 or so.
Great job! Much, much better!!
