Title: A fully procedural moutain landscape
Post by: MF_Erwan on January 01, 2009, 10:10:24 AM
No displacement on textures. Only added  a Fractal Power for each colour function with very small scales.

Good work on the textures.
You'll find that this technique will give you some wonderful shades!

Isn't a Fractal Power itself a displacement? What you've achieved here with small fractal displacements is a uniform graininess for snow, rock, and grass (whereas the snow might be better depicted with smoothing as a contrast). I sometimes use tiny displacements for grass as long as it's not to near the camera. The general idea, though, is good.

Since it has been attached to the Colour function entrance and its displacement hasn't been activated, no displacement has been made on the layers.

Misinterpreted that, apologies.
