Title: Pulsar shine
Post by: Jack on January 08, 2009, 03:51:20 AM
two sister planets orbiting a neutron star in the dark reaches of the universe a small group of scientists are doing research on how the intense radiation effects the rock on one of the planets

render only took 1 and a 1/2 hours to do my secret is setting the gi to 1,1 this really shortens your render times with very little drop in quality also keeping away from soft shadows because you can add soft shadows in photosop in a fraction of the time with the shows and highlight image mod :)

Leaving aside questions of scientific realism, the lighting is v. atmospheric and the tilting of the landscape is intriguing. Curious how you achieved the detailed displacement in the foreground.

I too find the terrain very interesting.  The two vehicles seem to be out of sync with the plane, though.

A very fine picture. Reminds me of Total Annihilation somehow.

I think you only got so few comments because your image leaves us speechless.
Brilliant.
May I ask how you made the jets of the pulsar?
Best regards,
Jan
