Title: Whole landscape disappears
Post by: PeterParker on January 09, 2009, 09:01:26 AM
Hello,

i´ve just made a landscape with 8 layers for the rocks put a river on it and some water.
But after a full render the landscape disappears in the preview window.
I didn´t resave my work :-(
But when i save any landscape with water and then load it back in to preview, the landscape is vanished and i´ve to recalculate the landscape.

Another problem is when i start TG2 50% of the processor is used by TG2, when i render something it´s 100%

This occures several times when i load Tg2 but not always.

Seems to me a bug or is this a feature ? ;-)

Regards

Peter

If you use heightfields for the landscape then it's normal they disappear when reloading. You can set them to auto generate to fix that...

I didn't think autogenerate worked yet for the heightfields.  Is it working now?

The preview window of the GUI uses only 1 core of the CPU. So a dualcore will have a last of 50%.
The full render uses the number of cores terragen detects on startup - so 100%.
For some cores you have to change the minimum number of threads in the advanced render settings.
